OATI Releases webIntegrity, a Customer-Focused Western Interconnection Congestion Management Tool

Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI) continues to provide best-in-the-industry technology with webIntegrity, a tool to provide reliability operational authorities in the Western Interconnection (i.e., Reliability Coordinators [RC], Balancing Authorities [BA] and Transmission Operators [TOP]) with grid situational awareness and a platform to coordinate interconnection-wide congestion management.

Minneapolis, MN: February 23, 2016 – OATI proudly announces the successful deployment of webIntegrity Phase I on January 22, 2016. This product provides entities (Peak RCs, BAs, and TOPs) in the Western Interconnection the necessary model, information, and calculations to determine and quantify the root cause of current and post-contingency congestion in monitored elements, in near real-time. Additionally, webIntegrity allows users to initiate congestion management actions such as system re-dispatch, curtailments, or other BA/TP/RC coordinated actions to relieve unacceptable pre- and post-contingency flows in the interfaces of the interconnection.

OATI webIntegrity, which will eventually merge with and replace the current OATI webSAS solution, provides advanced flow visualization into the electric grid. This provides increased reliability and situational awareness throughout the Western Interconnection, and allows users to more strategically analyze and manage the bulk electric system. In later phases, webIntegrity will also provide users the critical ability to visualize and project congestion, so that they are able to deliver the most reliable power to their customers.

OATI is committed to working with Peak Reliability Coordinators during the stabilization phase of webIntegrity and the commission in Production Operations.

“OATI is confident that webIntegrity will exceed the needs of industry participants,” said Sasan Mokhtari, President and CEO of OATI. “We are eager to release yet another powerful solution that addresses the challenges of the industry while contributing lasting solutions and benefits.”
