Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI) to sponsor the upcoming 2016 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Innovative Smart Grid Technologies (ISGT) conference and send energy experts to lead discussions about the advancement of grid modernization and emerging solutions for the grid of the future.

Minneapolis, MN: August 09, 2016 –
OATI continues its commitment to the advancement of grid modernization by sponsoring the 2016 IEEE ISGT conference and sending recognized OATI Smart Grid experts to lead discussions on the issues and solutions for grid modernization. The conference will take place minutes from OATI Corporate Campus at the Radisson Blu Hotel in downtown Minneapolis, MN from September 06-09, 2016.

ISGT 2016 is a forum for participants to discuss issues and effective strategies for grid modernization in the changing electric industry landscape. A variety of factors are driving this dynamic change, key among them is the emergence of high penetration of renewable generation at the bulk power level, and Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) at the customer level.

The theme of this year’s conference, “Transformation and Advancements for Grid Modernization,” will be explored through plenary sessions, panels, technical papers, industry exhibits, and tutorials by experts on Smart Grid applications and systems integration. OATI experts Farrokh Rahimi, Senior Vice President; Jose Medina Paloma, Vice President for Smart Grid; Ali Ipakchi, Vice President Smart Grid & Green Power; Ebrahim Vaahedi, Senior Director of Microgrid & GridControl Software Development; Jerrod Montoya, Security and Compliance Counsel; and Sasan Mokhtari, President and CEO, are among the many innovators selected to lead panel sessions, present papers, and help deliver keynote addresses. The conference will serve as an opportunity for industry participants to access the latest developments in Smart Grid technology to enhance their own implementation efforts.

“The impact of renewables on grid modernization is profound,” says Sasan Mokhtari. “We are confident the conference will give utilities the tools they need to plan a Smart Grid strategic roadmap that is comprehensive and responsive to the changing market.”
