OATI’s DVR/CVR: A Success Recognized by Multiple Companies

Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI) details the method, results, and savings that the OATI Dispatchable/Conservation Voltage Reduction (DVR/CVR) Solution provides for energy industry customers.

Minneapolis, MN: July 30, 2015 – OATI’s advanced DVR/CVR Solution is being recognized in the industry as a leading technology product for energy savings, providing 4% – 5% demand reduction compared to the industry average of approximately 0.5% – 4%. These numbers have been verified by OATI clients, including Wake Electric Membership Corporation (Wake). Wake Electric Membership Corporation selected OATI’s DVR/CVR Solution to provide them the capability to control distribution grid voltages during peak loading conditions to reduce system load and to achieve significant savings in their energy bills from their energy suppliers.

OATI’s DVR/CVR is the most sophisticated solution with the capability to exercise voltage control equipment to lower distribution grid voltages within allowable limits in order to reduce system as well as grid equipment loads. The OATI DVR/CVR solution enables the distribution grid operator to control distribution grid loads on a surgical basis on a circuit, feeder, and substation as well as at the system level. This is made possible through monitoring voltages at customer service delivery points in the real-time and using sophisticated control strategies to control voltage control equipment throughout the grid. OATI’s clients  use these capabilities to reduce their energy bill as well as to defer costly substation upgrades.
