OATI Remains Fully Compliant with Successful SSAE 16/ISAE 3402 Examination

The Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI) commitment to stringent compliance standards continues with the completion of SSAE 16/ISAE 3402 Type II Examination with no deficiencies.

Minneapolis, MN: December 18, 2013 – OATI has successfully completed its eighth consecutive Type II SOC I Report in accordance with both the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 (SSAE 16) and the International Standard on Assurance Engagements No. 3402 (ISAE 3402).

The audit period spanned April 01, 2013 to September 30, 2013. The report, performed by Schellman & Company, LLC (Schellman), an affiliate company of Brightline, consisted of an extensive evaluation of the effectiveness of OATI processes and controls, including strict North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) requirements. Schellman found that OATI controls were complete, accurate and in accordance with the standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

“OATI follows rigorous standards and strictly adheres to NERC CIP guidelines,” said Dr. Sasan Mokhtari, President and CEO of OATI. “This report is evidence of our commitment to provide the most secure and reliable services in the industry.”

OATI began conducting audits in 2005 with an AICPA Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) Type I audit. This was replaced from 2006-2010 with a SAS 70 Type II audit. Beginning in 2011, the AICPA retired the SAS 70 in favor of the current SSAE 16 examination. This change provides greater assurance of the achievement of the control objectives of the service organization being audited.
