OATI Celebrates Ten Years of Compliance with SSAE Requirements

Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI) maintains its excellent record of compliance and commitment to customer security with the successful completion of the SSAE 16/ISAE 3402 Type II Examination.

Minneapolis, Minnesota: January 06, 2016 – OATI has successfully completed its tenth consecutive Type II Service Organization Controls (SOC) 1 Report. The report is in compliance with both the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 (SSAE 16) and the International Standard on Assurance Engagements No. 3402 (ISAE 3402) with an audit period spanning from October 01, 2014 to September 30, 2015.

The Type II SOC 1 Report (previously called SAS 70) evaluates the Controls at a Service Organization, which user entities utilize in their internal control of financial reporting. Schellman & Company, LLC (Schellman), an affiliate company of BrightLine, completed the report by assessing the efficiency of OATI’s processes and controls and how well the company satisfies the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) requirements. The report found that OATI controls accurately met the standards set by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) with no deficiencies.

The voluntary yearly audits OATI undergoes establishes compliance to industry standards. For this audit, OATI added a new control to account for the new CIP-014 standard in order to maintain compliance with NERC CIP changes. Each set of standards and requirements ensure compliance in business processes, controls, and both cyber and physical security.

“We are pleased to see OATI once again in total compliance with the NERC CIP standards,” said Dr. Sasan Mokhtari, President and CEO of OATI. “This reflects our continued commitment to providing and supporting our customers with the best controls and processes available.”
