Great River Energy to Implement OATI’s Comprehensive Demand Response Management System

Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI) works with Great River Energy (GRE) to implement next generation centralized Demand Response Management System (DRMS).

Minneapolis, MN: January 12, 2016 – OATI has been selected by GRE, the second largest power supplier in the state of Minnesota, to provide OATI webDistribute, the next generation DRMS.

OATI webDistribute provides a robust, multi-company Demand Response (DR) software platform that will be used by GRE and its 28 Member Cooperatives to streamline and centrally operate its suite of load management programs. OATI webDistribute will be the hub from which GRE will manage its DR programs in harmony with its Member Cooperatives and Commercial and Industrial (C&I) loads.

OATI webDistribute demand management capability includes Conservation Voltage Reduction (CVR) capabilities within its core system. The GRE solution includes a CVR pilot to be deployed at a GRE Member Cooperative to determine the applicability of this technology on behalf of the GRE membership. webDistribute will also provide functionality needed to automatically gather the data required for North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Demand Response Availability Data System (DADS) reporting on an ongoing basis and submit reports electronically to the NERC DADS system also provided by OATI.

The OATI solution will be provided as a Software-as-a-Service, hosted from the OATI Cloud featuring the NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection compliant Data Centers.

“GRE is carefully monitoring and shaping the evolving industry needs for its members and customers” said Ali Ipakchi, Ph.D., Senior Vice President Smart Grid & Green Power at OATI. “OATI is pleased to develop a deeper partnership with this forward-thinking company.  We are proud to provide GRE with the solutions to best serve their customers.”
