OATI has immediate openings for Administrative Assistant positions. Administrative Assistants provide support to OATI staff and customers by performing a variety of complex administrative and clerical tasks. These tasks typically include document organization and formatting, filing, data entry, communication with customers on behalf of OATI staff, internal document routing, and collaboration with other departments to complete inter-departmental projects.

Qualifications/Requirements:

OATI is looking to fill our full-time GridControl Technical Specialist position with an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, career minded, individual that possesses a strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork. The candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills.  It is particularly important that this individual is able to communicate about technical items appropriately for the audience, and simplify technical details depending on the audience. This position reports to the Senior Manager GridControl Solutions and Project Delivery. The GridControl Technical Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance to Product and Project Managers and teams related to OATI hardware products and associated software solutions. 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree and/or 1- 3 years of support
  • Technical background in electrical/mechanical engineering, software product support, software product management, and/or information technology
  • Energy industry experience

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • IoT platform  configuration and management – Hardware & Software
  • Coordinate deployment and monitoring of systems internally and customer facing

Sr. Network Administrator

OATI Network Administration team is growing and we’re looking for qualified candidates to fill the Sr. Network Administrator position. OATI Network Administrators work with other members of the IT Department to support all aspects of the Network Infrastructure. A successful candidate will have experience working with network infrastructure devices and protocols, and a proven ability to design, deploy, and maintain solutions supporting high-availability network infrastructures. Candidates must be highly motivated and will be required to respond to and provide resolutions to problems on a timely basis. This position involves the planning, configuring, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting of a variety of network systems.

Working as part of a team you may be required to perform these tasks on: switches, routers, load balancers, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, IP telephony systems, wireless network devices, VPN devices, and other supporting LAN/WAN infrastructure components. Candidates with extensive experience designing, maintain, and supporting IT infrastructure are highly encouraged to apply.

OATI is currently recruiting for Desktop Support Technicians for its Minneapolis, MN location. The successful candidates will be self-motivated, quick learners, and demonstrate a passion and commitment to quality support of staff and customers. Desktop Support Technicians will perform, but are not limited to, PC and basic server support, create ghost images, maintain corporate mobile devices, and additional duties as assigned.

OATI Project Assistant: 0-2 Years’ Experience Required
OATI is seeking both recent graduates and business professionals for positions as Project Assistants to assist with managing complex software/hardware application deployments within the energy industry. These positions require demonstrated proficiency in communication, problem analysis, and understanding of project planning and implementation. Successful candidates will assist in all aspects of customer-facing and internal projects, including administrative functions. Marketing Associate Description
OATI is looking to fill our Marketing Associate position with an enthusiastic, career minded individual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to teamwork. This position reports to the Senior Manager Communications and has responsibility for assisting with many facets of the sales and marketing effort including supporting sales goals and developing and extending various marketing programs. The Marketing Associate will assist with deployment of product marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives. This position also involves the creation and coordination of marketing, advertising, and promotional activities to promote OATI products and solutions.

Smart Grid Solutions Account Executive

OATI is seeking a highly motivated sales hunter and results-orientated individual responsible for generating revenue for OATI’s industry leading Grid Modernization solutions, specifically OATI’s IOT-based Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) solution. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to launch and grow this new AMI market disruptive solution. This position focuses on municipal owned  electric  utilities.

Successful candidates will possess an aggressive and strategic prospecting skill set and a consultative approach to sales. This position is responsible for developing an annual territory sales plan and identifying specific actions to achieve assigned targets/goals and quotas. Performance will be measured by new bookings, recognized revenue plus sales pipeline growth and the ability to attain other sales objectives. Key responsibilities include: prospecting, building a sales pipeline, moving opportunities through the sales cycle; proposing, presenting, discussing solutions, and closing business. Other responsibilities include: market analysis, sales strategy development, tradeshow support, and proposal writing and sales reporting. Collaboration with technical staff, other colleagues, and supporting the overall team effort within the sales organization is expected.

This position requires moderate to extensive travel. Experience in electric utility industry operations, AMR/AMI, and or related fields is preferred. A knowledge of Grid Modernization, microgrids, demand response, distributed energy resource management and/or related areas is desirable. Preference is for a Minneapolis-based position but candidates could be based within a designated regional territory upon further discussions. This position has high growth potential.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related discipline
  • Experience with AMI and related technology 
  • 2 to 5 years of sales experience or equivalent, including exposure to utility/distribution industry
  • Proven success identifying and closing new business 
  • Broad knowledge of the fundamental constructs of AMI or AMR or metering systems in general
  • Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships at all levels, including C-level staff 
  • Ability to build and manage a large, multi-year pipeline 
  • Customer-centric mindset, ability to translate customer issues/needs into profitable business solutions

OATI Network team is growing and we’re looking for qualified candidates to fill the Manager IT Networks. OATI Manager IT Networks works with other members of the IT Department to support, maintain and operate OATI’s Network Infrastructure. A successful candidate will have hands-on experience working with network infrastructure devices and protocols, and a proven ability to provide direction in the design, deployment, and maintenance of solutions and systems supporting high-availability network infrastructures. 

The OATI Manager IT Networks will be in charge of supervising the staff and operations in the OATI IT Network Administrators and Private Links group. This individual will also require a good project management skills to be able to control, manage and provide leadership for the successful implementation of IT capital projects, special projects, and planning of maintenance activities.
 
Candidates must be highly motivated and will be required to respond to and provide resolutions to problems on a timely basis. This position involves setting the direction for the planning, configuring, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting of a variety of network systems.

Working as part of a team you may be required to perform and or supervise tasks on: switches, routers, load balancers, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, IP telephony systems, wireless network devices, VPN devices, and other supporting LAN/WAN infrastructure components. Candidates with extensive experience designing, maintain, and supporting IT infrastructure are highly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience on hands on network experience 
  • Professional certifications/degrees such as the ones below are a plus:
    • Cisco-CCNP/CCIE
    • F5-CA/CTS/CSE
    • Arista-ACE/ALE/APE
    • CompTIA-Network+/Security+
    • Aruba-ACMA/ACMP/ACMX/ACSA/ACSP
    • Wireshark-WCNA
    • A.S./A.A.S in Information Technology, Network Administration, Computer Science, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 year of experience in managing a network team
  • 24/7 availability as part of an on-call rotation
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license 
  • Acceptable background investigation report
  • U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
  • Local to MN

Preferred Skills in One or More Areas, are a plus:

  • Cisco routing, including experience with dynamic routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF)
  • Cisco switching, including an understanding of VLANs, trunking, and spanning-tree
  • Building and supporting Cisco ASA and/or Palo Alto firewalls
  • Cisco voice network solutions including: Call Manager, Unity, and Jabber
  • Support and troubleshoot wireless network technologies (Cisco and Aruba preferred)
  • Troubleshooting connection issues on data circuits (T1, T3, Metro Ethernet)
  • Using network monitoring tools to identify and respond to network related problems
  • HP or Arista switching
  • Experience deploying or supporting F5 load balancing solutions (LTM/DNS)
  • Support of remote access VPN solutions
  • Experience working with various IDS/IPS platforms
  • Support of Cisco ACS or ISE authentication systems
  • Knowledge and capability with Wireshark for packet capturing and analysis
