Municipal Owned Utilities are actively seeking solutions for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) for core grid modernization technology and a complementary suite of integrated solutions that supports a wide range of utility use cases beyond AMI, thus enabling automation to propel their City toward building of the utility of the 21st century.

OATI is seeking highly motivated sales hunters and results-orientated individuals responsible for generating revenue for OATI’s industry leading Smart City Grid Modernization solutions, specifically OATI’s IOT-based Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) solution. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to grow this new AMI market disruptive solution. Other complementary solutions include e.g. Smart Thermostat Demand Response, Conservation Voltage Reduction and DRMS/DERMS applications that will allow a City Municipal to intelligently manage peak load. This position focuses solely on municipal owned electric utilities.

Successful candidates will possess an aggressive and strategic prospecting skill set and a consultative approach to sales. Successful candidates will have a passion for technology and either will be, or will become a subject matter expert on OATI’s portfolio. This position is responsible for developing an annual territory sales plan and identifying specific actions to achieve assigned targets/goals and quotas. Performance will be measured by new bookings, recognized revenue plus sales pipeline growth and the ability to attain other sales objectives. Key responsibilities include: prospecting, building a sales pipeline, moving opportunities through the sales cycle; proposing, presenting, discussing solutions, and closing business. Other responsibilities include: market analysis, sales strategy development, tradeshow support, and proposal writing and sales reporting. Collaboration with technical staff, other colleagues, and supporting the overall team effort within the sales organization is expected.

This position requires extensive customer outreach and or travel. Experience in electric utility industry operations, AMR/AMI, demand management, smart thermostat solutions, and or related fields are highly preferred. A knowledge of grid modernization, smart cities, microgrids, demand response, distributed energy resource management and/or related areas are highly desirable. Preference is for a Minneapolis-based position but candidates could be based within a designated regional territory upon further discussions. This position has high growth potential.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related discipline
  • Experience with AMI/AMR and related technology
  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience or equivalent, including exposure to utility/distribution industry
  • Proven success identifying and closing new business
  • Broad knowledge of the fundamental constructs of smart cities
  • Broad knowledge of the fundamental constructs of AMI or AMR or metering systems in general
  • Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships at all levels, including C-level staff
  • Ability to build and manage a large, multi-year pipeline
  • Customer-centric mindset, ability to translate customer issues/needs into profitable business solutions
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment

OATI Account Executive – ISO/RTO Sales
Our company is growing, fast. Our team of professionals is rapidly expanding to support growing customer needs and expand our relationships to find new opportunities in the North American Energy Industry. OATI is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented individual responsible for building new business relationships and generating revenue with various North American ISOs and RTOs.
Successful candidates will possess an aggressive and strategic prospecting skill set and a consultative approach to sales. He/she will work to understand and solve business objectives, incorporating all the capabilities of OATI solutions. Performance will be measured by successful relationships built and utilized to further OATI sales and recognized revenue through sales plus pipeline growth. Key responsibilities include:

  • Builds market position by developing, defining, and maintaining business relationships with North American ISO/RTOs including AESO, CAISO, ERCOT, IESO, ISO-NE, MISO, NYISO, PJM and SPP
  • Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements
  • Locates sales opportunities or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential customers
  • Discovers and explores business opportunities
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, and financials
  • Evaluates options and resolves and manages internal priorities
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions for new sales opportunities
  • Examines risks and potentials for the sales opportunities
  • Estimates Customer’s needs and goals
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; and integrating contract requirements with business operations

Collaboration with technical staff, other colleagues, and supporting the overall team effort within the sales organization is expected.

This position requires moderate to extensive travel. Experience in building key relationships, detailed knowledge of how market operators function and an understanding of complex sales is highly desirable.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Five years of experience in, or dealing with one or more North American ISOs/RTOs
  • Experience using OATI software is preferred

Administrative Coordinators provide support to OATI staff and customers by performing a variety of complex administrative and clerical tasks in the Administrative Support area. Additionally, experience, coursework, or internships using power system hardware and instrumentation is desired. OATI Associate Project Manager 2-4 Years’ Direct Experience required
OATI is seeking business and operations professionals for positions as Associate Project Managers who are responsible for assisting in managing mission-critical software application deployments within the energy industry.  These positions require demonstrated proficiency in communication, problem analysis, and the ability to review and understand industry business practices and standards.  The successful candidates will assist in guiding customer-facing projects that feature software solutions for utility clients responsible for managing electrical grid system operations. OATI is seeking a Building Systems Operator (BSO) to maintain, operate, and optimize building automation and electrical systems. OATI’s BSO group is growing and looking to add additional qualified staff to the team.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 1-2 years technical certificate or diploma for HVAC, Electrical Systems/Metering, or 1-2 years of building systems operation experience.
  • 1-3 years direct experience with building systems maintenance and/or operations
  • Valid US driver’s license

Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI) is seeking a Communications Graphics Designer to assist with the design of publications and marketing materials, as well as software graphical user interface design for websites and mobile apps. Candidates must be able to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Utilize graphic design skills to assist in executing and managing various marketing promotions including both electronic and print channels
  • 2-4 years of experience in graphics design
  • Work with cross-function personnel to develop graphic concepts and illustrations

The Financial Controller position will have the responsibility of coordinating and reviewing the financial, accounting, audit, and fiscal aspects of the Corporation and its affiliates, and interacting with the supporting staff, financial information systems, and controls. TranServ is seeking an experienced power systems electrical engineer for Manager or Sr. Transmission Planning Engineer openings. The position will provide knowledge, abilities, and skills on how to plan, develop, and coordinate electrical transmission system expansion planning projects including renewable and Smart Grid energy projects. The Manager or Sr. Transmission Planning Engineer will also: provide leadership in the engineering support for daily operations, manage compliance with tariff requirements, and is responsible for maintaining and managing transmission system models for power flow, transient stability, and short circuit analysis. The Manager or Sr. Transmission Planning Engineer will also perform or manage System Impact and Generator Interconnection studies and will participate in several related activities.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BSEE, MSEE preferred, Math, Physics, or related fields
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) a plus 
  • 8 plus years of transmission system planning experience
  • Experience performing transmission planning engineering functions
  • Ability to be available on a 24x7 basis to support clients
  • Education and experience performing transmission planning studies in compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requirements and industry reliability standards

Responsibilities:

  • Creating, implementing, and measuring the success of:
    • Comprehensive marketing programs that will enhance OATI’s image and position within the marketplace.

  • Ensure articulation of OATI’s desired image and position through marketing efforts.
  • Coordinate with communications and public relations groups on OATI’s media representation.

  • Ensure documentation is in place for all product marketing activities; review and update documentation as needed. 

Managing Duties:

  • Maintain a climate that attracts, retains, and motivates top quality personnel.
  • Train, appraise, supervise, support, develop, promote, and guide qualified personnel.
  • Ensure effective management within the marketing function, with provision for succession.
  • Ensure career development plans are in place for Product Marketing staff and monitor growth of staff and adjust team assignments to ensure continued growth.
  • Design, support, and oversee cross-functional teams throughout the organization.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of work-related experience, preferably at marketing management level for 5+ years
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience working at a medium to large technology company
  • Experience and expertise in both corporate and product marketing and branding across large customer segments
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing activities
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and personal sales skills
  • Experience developing and managing marketing programs, budgets, and training, developing, supervising, and appraising personnel
  • Demonstrated successful experience in CRM systems, website management, SEO efforts, etc.
  • Computer literacy
