Associate Project Manager

OATI is seeking business and legal professionals for positions as Associate Project Managers who are responsible for assisting in managing complex software application deployments within the energy industry.  The position requires demonstrated proficiency in communication, problem analysis, and ability to review and understand industry business practices and standards. Successful candidates will guide customer-facing projects that feature software solutions for utility clients responsible for managing electrical grid system operations.

Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI) is seeking a Communications Specialist to assist with design of publications and marketing materials, as well as software graphical user interface design for websites and mobile apps. Responsibilities include:

  • Create, edit, and update monthly newsletters

OATI is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain and support facilities and equipment. The Facilities Technician will initially be focused on the mechanical/electrical systems at OATI’s internal facilities, and will grow to operating other facilities. OATI’s Facilities team is growing and in need of additional qualified staff.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 2 years technical diploma for HVAC, or equivalent facilities equipment maintenance experience, including pump and motor maintenance and/or repairs
  • Prior experience with any building automation and monitoring software is a plus
  • Familiar with chilled water cooling, hot water heating, and air handling systems
  • Experience with high and low voltage electrical systems including backup generators and distribution equipment is a plus
  • Prior experience supporting data  center infrastructure (power, cooling systems, and clean agent fire suppression) is desirable
  • Valid US driver’s license

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Operate and monitor equipment using facilities automation systems (Honeywell EBI and others) to maintain redundancy and energy efficient operation
  • Maintain water treatment testing for HVAC equipment
  • Maintain and create equipment documentation and maintenance records as necessary
  • Assist with administration of physical security and card access systems, including cardholder management
  • Supervise contractors and vendors as necessary
  • On call rotation for after-hours emergency maintenance work
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

GridControl Technician

OATI is looking to fill our full-time GridControl Technician position with an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, career minded, individual that possesses a strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork. The candidate must have good written and spoken skills. This position reports to the GridControl Production Manager. The GridControl Technician is responsible for providing technical assistance to Product and Project managers and teams related to OATI hardware products and associated software solutions. 

The ideal candidate for the GridControl Technician will have an Associate or Bachelor’s degree and/or 1- 3 years of support, energy industry, or technical background in information technology, software, or electrical/mechanical engineering.

OATI is seeking a highly motivated sales hunter and results-orientated individual responsible for generating revenue for OATI’s and USA Microgrid’s industry leading Grid Modernization solutions. This position will be focused on all facets of microgrid operations and may include grid enhancements, and also may include utility focused DERMS solutions. 

Successful candidates will possess an aggressive and strategic prospecting skill set and a consultative approach to sales. He/she will work to understand and solve business objectives, incorporating the entire suite of OATI and USA Microgrid available Grid Modernization services and solutions. This position is responsible for developing an annual territory sales plan and identifying specific actions to achieve assigned targets/goals and quotas. Performance will be measured by recognized revenue plus sales pipeline growth and the ability to attain other sales objectives. Key responsibilities include: prospecting, building a sales pipeline, moving opportunities through the sales cycle; proposing, presenting, discussing solutions, and closing business. Other responsibilities include: market analysis, sales strategy development, tradeshow support, and proposal writing sales reporting. Collaboration with technical staff, other colleagues, and supporting the overall team effort within the sales organization is expected. Depending on the candidate, leading a sales division and management of sales executives may be required and expected.

This position requires moderate to extensive travel.  Experience in electric utility industry operations and/or microgrid centric operations, plus complex sales, is highly desirable. A strong knowledge of Grid Modernization with a focus on microgrid design and operation and/or related areas is required. Physical location of employee would be within the United States.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Senior Electrical Engineer

OATI is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with experience defining, designing, validating and working through production of microprocessor and microcontroller based systems. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of work experience in this area. Additionally, having experience with wireless modules and RF understanding is desired. Skills and understanding of switch mode power supplies and implementing PMIC solutions is also desired. Leadership experience is also a plus, as this individual will be expected to lead and mentor other more junior hardware engineers.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or other comparable degree or certification, with relevant work systems

Software Systems Analyst/Integrator

OATI is looking for a Software Systems Analyst/Integrator with 1-3 years experience in software system maintenance, troubleshooting, and integration for an opening in Minneapolis, MN.
 

Requirements:

  • Assume responsibility for maintenance of high availability system
  • Capable of reading, tuning, and maintaining SQL Stored Procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Visual Studios
  • Strong knowledge of relational database design concepts
  • Expert level knowledge in relation to data integration, web services, and database optimization
  • Ability to work in a small, experienced, and energetic team on a rapid, agile project schedule
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to engage with and manage the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and make recommendations to management

Duties and Tasks:

  • Responsible for quality software change deployment to test production environments
  • Perform database performance analysis and tuning
  • Investigate system transactions to determine proper application processing
  • Troubleshoot system errors and alerts, and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Be a team player and work in collaboration with team members

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Database SQL knowledge and experience required
  • Substantial experience in .Net 3.0/4.0, WPF applications- development and deployment
  • Programming capability and communication skills needed, along with aptitude for learning new applications

Senior Electronic Technician

OATI’s hardware team is looking for an experienced Electronics Technician with PCB Layout training and experience. The ideal candidate will have experience performing 4-6 layer PCB layouts using Altium for high speed digital and power supply designs. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team developing OATI’s hardware solutions for the Smart Grid of tomorrow.

Qualifications/Prior Experience:

  • Two year technical diploma for Electronics Technology
  • 3-5 years of experience preforming PCB layout of 6-8 layer microprocessor/RF designs
  • 3-5 years of experience as an electronics technician

Position Requirements:

  • SMT PCB prototype assembly and re-work skills
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and perform SMT re-work
  • Ability to update electrical schematics
  • Manage PCB component library for layout activities
  • Specify, source, and manage the acquisition of lab and test equipment and tools
  • Manage the calibration of all lab test equipment
  • Ability to interface with contract manufacturers for production and test issues
  • Must be highly motivated and a self-starter

A successful candidate will be able to cross-function with different teams in order to review, assess, and design user experiences. Qualifications/Requirements:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Human Factors/Interaction, Psychology, or related field
  • A portfolio which demonstrates experience with wireframes, interactives, and specs that meet business needs
  • 1-2 years’ experience designing UI for multiple form factors (mobile/tablet/desktop)
  • Deep understanding of UX process, such as researching, designing, prototyping, testing, etc.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, Dynamic HTML, and CSS
  • Knowledge and experience of open source JavaScript framework is desired
  • Knowledge of mobile development platforms is a plus

OATI Windows Systems Administration team is growing and we’re looking for qualified candidates to fill mid-level through senior-level positions. OATI Windows Systems Administrators work with other members of the Information Technology department to support all aspects of the Systems Infrastructure. The Windows Systems Administrator will also support internal Development staff with installation, configuration, and support of OATI’s advanced Energy Industry applications.
