OATI President and CEO Named to Class of 2019 IEEE Fellows for “Leadership in Energy Industry Technology Solutions”
- January 2, 2019
OATI is pleased to announce Dr. Sasan Mokhtari, President and CEO of Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI), has been named an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Fellow. He is being recognized by the energy industry technical community for “leadership in energy industry technology solutions.”
The IEEE Grade of Fellow is conferred by the IEEE Board of Directors upon a person with an outstanding record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. The total number selected in any one year cannot exceed one-tenth of one-percent of the total voting membership. IEEE Fellow is the highest grade of membership and is recognized by the technical community as a prestigious honor and an important career achievement.
In 1995, Dr. Mokhtari founded OATI to provide innovative solutions for the deregulated energy industry. Together they guided OATI to launch the paradigm-changing Application Service Provider (ASP) business model in the energy industry to leverage the business value of the internet and led OATI to become the premier Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions provider in the North American energy industry. Through continuous innovation and a drive to be at the edge of innovation, OATI offers products and services to support the software needs of the energy industry. As OATI looks to the future, it also focuses on advanced data center architectures, mobile technologies, smart grid hardware devices with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) security, advanced microgrid optimization and control, and most recently, deployment of next-generation advanced technologies supporting the incorporation of Internet of Things (IoT) and Grid 4.0™ initiatives.
“I am very honored and humbled by this recognition,” said Dr. Sasan Mokhtari, President and CEO of OATI. “However, in reality this is an acknowledgement of the tireless effort and commitment by the OATI team that I have had the honor of working with for many years.”
