Las Vegas, NV

March 23-26, 2026.

Tribal nations across North America have been plagued for generations by rising energy costs and inadequate service quality, negatively impacting native communities and limiting economic opportunities.

Together with OATI, tribes are pursuing energy sovereignty through electrification, EV charging, and microgrids. See how we partner with tribes at the the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED) Reservation Economic Summit (RES) 2026 in Las Vegas, NV.

Delivering trusted, reliable, and proven energy solutions for tribal nations.

Case Studies

  1. Resilient microgrids and EV charging for Colville Tribes

Colville Tribes aims to improve reliability, reduce power outages, spur economic development, and provide long-term independence for the tribal nation by developing microgrids and EV charging.
    Solution
OATI is providing design, engineering, and deployment services for the development of four microgrids that will orchestrated by GridMind®, as well as dozens of EV chargers.
The expertise (from OATI) is huge because we just don’t have it… Without it, we would still be spinning our wheels.Chairman, Colville Tribes
  2. Tribal electrification with EV charging

Native Sun, a non-profit developer of clean energy projects for tribal nations, needed a partner to deploy and manage EV charging infrastructure for tribes.
    Solution
OATI, through EVolution®, provides Native Sun and its tribal partners with EV charging infrastructure, smart charging software platform, and customer support. Native Sun and OATI oversee and coordinate installation and maintenance of EV charging infrastructure, while transferring title of the equipment to the host tribe for long-term ownership and benefit.
Technology and Native determination is what enables us to do this, and to empower our communities to be leaders in the clean transportation and energy space— to be able to partner with OATI on this important project, and gain so much more than a solutions provider, has been critical to our success and impact.Executive Director, Native Sun
  3. Power through partnerships with Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians

Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians sought solutions for mitigating rising energy costs and extreme weather events, while ensuring sound environmental stewardship of their tribal lands.
    Solution
In collaboration with developer Woven Energy, OATI is designing, developing, and deploying two solar and energy storage microgrids which will be dynamically managed by GridMind®, paving the way for potential establishment of a tribal utility.

Beyond Resilience: How Tribal Microgrids Unlock Economic Opportunity

March 23, 2026 | 1:00 p.m. – 1:50 p.m. PST | Milano Ballroom VI

For tribal nations, energy sovereignty is about more than keeping the lights on during outages—it is a pathway to community resilience, self-determination, and long-term economic growth. The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, in partnership with OATI, are pioneering a multi-microgrid program that demonstrates how advanced energy systems can transform tribal communities. Participants will gain insight into the Colville Tribes’ comprehensive approach, including solar, battery storage, EV charging, and cutting-edge asset controls. We will also highlight strategies for integrating microgrids into broader utility and market operations, ensuring scalability and financial viability.

Speakers:

Tim Clashin, Account Executive, OATI

Matt Kiesow, Senior Director – IoT Solutions, OATI
