Software Developer II – Multiple Openings
Position Duties:
- Develop and support applications in the areas of smart grid, energy and commodity trading, risk management, emission and renewable energy credit market, gas trading, electric transmission and congestion management;
- Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems;
- Review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations; consult and perform gap analysis on new business requirements and product functionality;
- Work with internal customers (and external customers and vendors as needed) to validate data, workflow, and business model relationships; will assess product needs and system requirements;
- Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve workflow;
- Review functional specifications validate detailed design using a variety of technologies (including Java, Object Oriented Design, SQL Server, Java Script, HTML, DHTML, C++, C#, and webPlus Power), and application interfaces using XML/SOAP;
- Monitor software development life cycle of the product;
- Test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems;
- Develop, document, and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards;
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the product applications releases and system integration; and
- Manage programs and procedures for system implementation and quality assurance;
- Supervise six junior software engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, management information systems, networking and information security, computer programming or related field.
- Two years experience in software development, as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, Jr. Software Developer/Engineer or closely related, including experience in: Java, SQL Server, Object Oriented Design, Java Script, HTML, Dynamic HTML, C++, and C#.
- Experience can be gained concurrently, before, or after the degree earned.
- Location Of Employment:7901 Computer Avenue, Bloomington, MN 55435, or a home office in the Minneapolis/St Paul metro area.
