Finding the right software to fit a utility’s needs is more than just a Google search away. Distributed energy management solutions (DERMS) in particular are arduous to procure as each utility has a specific set of needs and array of resources to account for. This has led to many utilities paying for half-baked solutions from “safe” vendors, or flashy yet speculative solutions from startups with little to no portfolio.
