OATI Enables Transition to Smart Community for United Kingdom Project

calcApr 11, 2018

OATI is pleased to announce their participation in the Isles of Scilly (UK) Smart Energy Islands project. The project is composed of a number of interconnected projects using advanced information technology solutions which aim to cut electricity bills by 40% for island residents, meet 40% of energy demands with renewable energy resources, and provide systems that enable 40% of vehicles to be low-carbon or electric by 2025.

OATI will provide EVolution™, an Electric Vehicle Charging Network on the islands backed with secure, real-time data communications with 26 public charging stations, as well as a Distribution System Operations (DSO) management system. Additionally, OATI will also incorporate the OATI IoT SCADA, and integrate the solutions into Gryphin™, the new OATI IoT platform for Big Data analytics, with forecasting tools to further enhance its solutions.

The Smart Islands aims to develop technologies to sustainably and affordably address some of the infrastructure and electric distribution issues across Isles of Scilly's five inhabited islands while serving as a model for other communities beyond the UK.

This project, the first project to be delivered by the Smart Islands, is funded and supported by the European Regional Development Funds of the European Union, which aims to strengthen economic and social cohesion in the European Union by correcting imbalances between its regions.

“We are proud to help the Isles of Scilly in their transition to a low-carbon, sustainable, and resilient community,” said Dr. Sasan Mokhtari, President and CEO of OATI. “OATI supports the development of such relationships and will continue to work with others to provide innovative software technology solutions across the globe.”
