OATI Accepted as Member into the DERC – Hawaii

OATI is pleased to announce its membership in the Distributed Energy Resources Council of Hawaii (DERC – Hawaii), a nonprofit organization dedicated to cooperative ventures toward a clean energy future. With this membership, OATI joins a group of well-established energy industry companies who are also members of DERC – Hawaii.

OATI has a strong history of supporting Hawaiian initiatives in renewable energies. With this membership, OATI is proud to continue this support, particularly through the development of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and SmartGrid Solutions.

DERC serves as an intervener in key proceedings at the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission (PUC) – DER Docket and the Demand Response (DR) Docket with a particular focus on establishing guidelines for the Grid Modernization Docket and the Utility Electric Vehicle (EV) Plan. Additionally, DERC – Hawaii is active at the Hawaii State Legislature to monitor and engage in relevant legislative opportunities for clean energy rebates/tax credits, interconnection standards, and performance-based rate-making.

It also participates in technical meetings with the utility and other energy stakeholders to review utility programs and Utility Commission Dockets. Key programs in which OATI will participate as a DERC member include Grid Services, Grid Modernization, and Electrification of Transportation and EV renewable transportation plans.

As a general member, OATI will also participate in association meetings and working groups, receive policy and market intelligence updates, and receive recognition in association promotional materials, filings, and communications.

“We are very excited to be a part of this distinguished group,” said Dr. Sasan Mokhtari, President and CEO of OATI. “The collaborative nature of DERC – Hawaii and its members will provide rich opportunities to create a future focused on renewable energies with innovative solutions.”
