American Heart Month

calcFeb 07, 2018

It’s American Hearth Month! According to the American Heart Association, as a presidential proclamation, the first heart health awareness month was in February 1964. Now, we are reminded every year of the importance of heart health and a healthy lifestyle.

Did you know?

  • Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the world, for both men and women.
  • Heart disease accounts for about 25% of deaths in the U.S.
  • While heart disease can run in families, other factors like high cholesterol, obesity, and smoking can put people at risk.

To find more facts and learn about heart health, visit the American Heart Association and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention websites.

To recognize National Wear Red Day on February 02 and American Hearth Month, our Microgrid Technology Center is showcasing a red and white heart design throughout the month. Take care of your heart and visit your doctor today!
