OATI Expert Attends IEEE PES T&D Conference 2018
Leading companies from across the world participated both as exhibitors and attendees in the IEEE PES T&D “Power Forward” conference which attracted energy executives, practitioners, academics, industry professionals, and policy makers. The event featured panel sessions, paper forum sessions, super sessions, technical tours, IEEE PES “Plain Talk” courses, tutorials, poster session and receptions, and a product and solutions showcase.

Provision of Grid Services from DR Resources
This panel discussed the factors changing utility operational and business models and emerging factors for new grid services at bulk power and distribution levels, the cost-effective provision of these services from Demand Response (DR) resources, and lessons learned in the DR demo and actual field implantation projects carried out in recent years.

Transactive Energy Methods: Techniques and Approaches for Interaction Between Distribution Grid Participants
This panel explored transactive energy simulation, intelligent system interaction, information models, blockchain integration with transactive energy, and an overview of advances and developments with the IEEE standard P825 for transactive energy.

Future Power System Operations: Rise of Distributed Generation
This session addressed the various attributes of distributed generation, how electric utilities, regulators, and stakeholders can enable higher distributed generation penetration and how they need to respond to it, and provided operational, regulatory, and market viewpoints.

Catching Consumers and Distributed Generation Flexibility to Improve Demand Response
This session identified some of the most prominent solutions and business models to improve demand response.
