OATI has immediate Full-Time opening for an Account Executive – Business Development. Our company is growing, fast. Named to Inc. OATI is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented individual responsible for building new business relationships and generating revenue with alliance members. Successful candidates will possess an aggressive and strategic prospecting skill set and a consultative approach to business development. He/she will work to understand and solve business objectives, incorporating all the capabilities of OATI solutions. Performance will be measured by successful alliance relationships built and utilized to further OATI sales and recognized revenue through sales to non-utility organizations plus sales pipeline growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building Alliances with likeminded organizations to expand and extend OATI’s customer base through new and untapped business opportunities and relationships.
  • Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, and maintaining business relationships with alliance members.
  • Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements.
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners.
  • Discovers and explores business opportunities.
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, and financials.
  • Evaluates options and resolves and manages internal priorities.
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations.
  • Examines risks and potentials for the business opportunities.
  • Estimates partners’ needs and goals.
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; and integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Collaboration with technical staff, other colleagues, and supporting the overall team effort within the sales organization is expected.
  • This position requires moderate to extensive travel.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Five years of Business Development experience
  • Proven success identifying and closing new business
  • Prospecting skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Five years of experience in the electric energy industry is preferred
  • Broad knowledge of the fundamental constructs Microgrid solutions is preferred
  • Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships at all levels, including C level

Successful candidates will have a passion for technology and either will be, or will become a subject matter expert on OATI’s portfolio. This position is responsible for developing an annual territory sales plan and identifying specific actions to achieve assigned targets/goals and quotas. Performance will be measured by new bookings, recognized revenue plus sales pipeline growth and the ability to attain other sales objectives. Key responsibilities include: prospecting, building a sales pipeline, moving opportunities through the sales cycle; proposing, presenting, discussing solutions, and closing business. Other responsibilities include: market analysis, sales strategy development, tradeshow support, and proposal writing and sales reporting. Collaboration with technical staff, other colleagues, and supporting the overall team effort within the sales organization is expected. This position requires extensive customer outreach and travel. Experience in City Operations, is highly preferred. A knowledge of IoT technology, grid modernization, smart utilities, microgrids, etc. and/or related areas are highly desirable. Preference is for a Minneapolis-based position but candidates could be based within a designated regional territory upon further discussions. This position has extremely high growth potential.

OATI Account Executive – ISO/RTO Sales
Our company is growing, fast. Our team of professionals is rapidly expanding to support growing customer needs and expand our relationships to find new opportunities in the North American Energy Industry. OATI is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented individual responsible for building new business relationships and generating revenue with various North American ISOs and RTOs.
Successful candidates will possess an aggressive and strategic prospecting skill set and a consultative approach to sales. Municipal Owned Utilities are actively seeking solutions for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) for core grid modernization technology and a complementary suite of integrated solutions that supports a wide range of utility use cases beyond AMI, thus enabling automation to propel their City toward building of the utility of the 21st century.

OATI is seeking highly motivated sales hunters and results-orientated individuals responsible for generating revenue for OATI’s industry leading Smart City Grid Modernization solutions, specifically OATI’s IOT-based Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) solution. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to grow this new AMI market disruptive solution. Other complementary solutions include e.g. Smart Thermostat Demand Response, Conservation Voltage Reduction and DRMS/DERMS applications that will allow a City Municipal to intelligently manage peak load. This position focuses solely on municipal owned electric utilities.

OATI is seeking legal professionals for Associate Project Manager-Attorney I positions. Attorneys at OATI are assigned to projects in support of business and technical resources, to learn the process of project implementation, to support transactional legal activities, and also to participate in the compliance and regulatory activities facing OATI clients. OATI attorneys provide analysis and counsel on legal, product, and compliance issues, and guard against legal risks facing the company. Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to analyze industry business practices and regulatory standards to provide recommendations to business and technical staff. Energy industry knowledge/ experience is a plus but not necessary. These positions provide opportunities in a fast-paced environment to work on the latest industry initiatives and the inherent growth opportunities.

OATI is seeking an Associate Electrical Power Engineer.  Working under the direction of Senior Electrical Engineers, this person will work on the definition, design, development, testing, and implementation of power system applications. Additionally, experience, coursework, or internships using power system hardware and instrumentation is desired. Familiarity with microgrids, smart grid/grid modernization, and energy markets is also desired.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, or other similar coursework/certification

OATI is seeking an Associate Embedded Firmware Engineer. Working under the direction of Senior Firmware Engineers, this person will work on the definition, design and implementation and validation of embedded firmware running on microcontrollers. Coursework in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and hands on experience working with IDEs and embedded C is desired.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or other comparable degree or certification with relevant work experience
  • Coursework or experience developing embedded firmware for microcontroller based-systems

Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI) is seeking a Communications Graphics Designer to assist with the design of publications and marketing materials, as well as software graphical user interface design for websites and mobile apps. An OATI Communications Specialist – Framework Development Group will help to improve a large number of OATI products as well as assist in designing new products. OATI is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain and support facilities and equipment. The Facilities Technician will initially be focused on the mechanical/electrical systems at OATI’s internal facilities, and will grow to operating other facilities. OATI’s Facilities team is growing and in need of additional qualified staff.

Responsibilities include​:

  • Hands on operation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC equipment, including regularly scheduled preventive maintenance
  • Ensure infrastructure equipment uptime to meet Data Center and building occupant needs
  • Operate and monitor equipment using facilities automation systems to maintain redundancy and energy efficient operation
  • Maintain water treatment testing for HVAC equipment
  • Maintain and create equipment documentation and maintenance records as necessary

The Financial Controller position will have the responsibility of coordinating and reviewing the financial, accounting, audit, and fiscal aspects of the Corporation and its affiliates, and interacting with the supporting staff, financial information systems, and controls. Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure is extremely important to advance EV adoption by making the EV driver ownership experience convenient. OATI is seeking a team of highly motivated, EV-centric sales hunters and results-orientated individuals responsible for generating large revenue and market share for OATI’s EVolution Smart Charge Station Management solution. These positions present the opportunity for extensive exposure to customers and thus require excellent communication, relationship building and sales skills, as well as EV charger technical knowledge.

Successful candidates will possess an aggressive and strategic prospecting skill set and a consultative approach to sales. Successful candidates will have a passion for EV adoption and related technology and is expected to have deep subject matter expertise in EV charging. This position is responsible for developing an annual territory sales plan and identifying specific actions to achieve assigned targets/goals and quotas. Performance will be measured by the number of new charge ports sold, new bookings, recognized revenue, and sales pipeline growth. Key responsibilities include: prospecting, building a sales pipeline, moving opportunities through the sales cycle; preparing technical and commercial proposals, presenting, discussing solutions, and closing business. Other responsibilities include: market analysis, sales strategy development, tradeshow support, and proposal writing and sales reporting. Collaboration with other technical staff, other colleagues, and supporting the overall team effort within the sales organization is expected.

This position requires extensive customer outreach and travel. Experience in the EV charging industry is a must. Experience and or knowledge of electric utility industry operations and or related fields are appreciated. Preference is for a Minneapolis-based position but candidates could be based within a designated regional territory upon further discussions. This position has high growth potential.

OATI’s IT team is growing and we’re looking for qualified candidates to fill multiple positions. The Security Analyst position will work with the other teams of the IT Department such as the Network and System teams to complete projects and accomplish goals related to Network Security.
 
The Security Analyst’s focus will be the administration, analysis, and monitoring of security controls related to OATI’s Data Loss prevention infrastructure. They will also be responsible for internal penetration testing and evaluation of testing results. They will monitor logging environments for security events and alerts to potential (or active) threats, intrusions, and/or compromises. They will also assist with the containment of threats and remediation of the impacted environment during or after an incident.
 
The Security Analyst will assist with reviewing data, drawing conclusions, and estimating probabilities of individuals posing an immediate or likely risk to the organization based upon knowledge of current and past insider threat and corporate sabotage situations, and an understanding of the significance of conditions and trends.
 
Candidates must be highly motivated and will be required to respond to and provide resolutions to problems on a timely basis. Assignments will call for the candidate to frequently collaborate with others, work independently or in teams, and communicate facts and results to peers, leaders, and management. The candidate will be required to leverage their knowledge of security standards, processes, procedures, and solutions and support security functions. The candidate may also be placed in an on-call rotation depending on the IT department’s Security needs.

These roles may also be expanded upon in the future depending on need.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Have an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution in an IT-related field.
  • Security certification and training. One or more of the following preferred: Security+, CPTE, CCNA Security, CCNP, CEH, SANS, CISSP, GIAC, CISA, CISM. Other security certifications also a plus.
  • 1-3+ years of experience years in an IT Security role or other IT role with a strong security component.
  • Experience with Data Loss Prevention suite operations and implementation.
  • Understanding of fundamental to intermediate security, systems, and network concepts. (Operating systems, intrusion/detection, TCP/IP, ports, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Web Filtering, Proxy servers, SSL offloading, Load Balancers.

OATI is looking to fill our full-time Technical Specialist position with an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, career minded individual that possesses a strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork. The candidate must have good written and spoken skills. This position reports within the Strategic Products group. This Technical Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance to Product and Project managers along with other teams related to OATI AMIoT Smart City hardware and software solutions.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree and/or 1- 3 years of support
  • Energy industry experience
  • Technical background in information technology, software, or electrical/mechanical engineering
  • U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
  • Local to MN

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Hands-on experience with computers, IT networks, and software solutions
  • IoT system and sensor configuration – Hardware & Software
  • Device-level configuration of smart gateway, endpoint products, and other DER integrations
  • A good understanding of communication technologies and protocols (wired and wireless)
  • Detailed inventory tracking and reporting
  • Coordinate deployment and monitoring of test and pilot systems
  • Customer presentations, project coordination calls, and internal reporting
