OATI webSettlement^TM
There are two types of settlement functions that need to be performed in an RTO environment. The first is the traditional market settlement and billing process, which involves the transfer of funds to and from the Market Participant to the RTO using the RTO's settlement statement as a reference. The second type of settlement process is commonly referred to as Shadow Settlement. This is the process of independently verifying the accuracy of the charge types listed in the RTO settlement statements. The OATI webSettlement solution provides both of these functions, and when integrated with the OATI webTrader solution, provides a complete settlement solution.
Market Settlement & Billing - OATI webSettlement provides a complete set of tools to manage the transfer of funds between the Market Participant and the RTO. These tools include financial accounting checkout, invoice creation & tracking facilities, invoice payment, accounting locks and receivables aging capability. Standard and custom reports are available for analysis and company-wide distribution of settlement and billing information.
Shadow Settlement - The Shadow Settlement function provides the means to compare the RTO statement with the participants expected billing and to analyze any differences. As soon as the operating day has cleared, the settlement can be performed and charges can be obtained without having to wait for the market statements. The Settlement function develops a shadow settlement statement based on cleared transactions, identifies differences with the RTO statement, and provides the functionality for disputes and their management. OATI webSettlement is integrated within the OATI webTrader to provide the market settlement module that enables users to compute settlement charges in full compliance with the market rules. Actual market settlement computations are performed and users can define market charges & determinants within the system and specify their computation formulas in an easy and intuitive form. Market settlement reports are created in exactly the same format and structure as they come from the market. This enables an easy side-by-side comparison and quick identification of discrepancies.
