North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB), Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) and Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI) announce updated webRegistry Phase 3 cutover date of October 29, 2013

Minneapolis, MN: October 11, 2013 – In an effort to support the industry and allow entities more time to re-register data, the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB), Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) and Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI) announce the cutover date for the retirement of the WECC Registry is now rescheduled to October 29, 2013.

Entities with Transmission Path and Adjacency Data registered in the WECC Registry must have all data reviewed, re-registered, and approved in OATI webRegistry prior to October 25, 2013 to be included in the active publication on October 29, 2013.

On October 29, 2013, the WECC Registry will be officially retired at 00:00 CST and webRegistry will become the source for Transmission Path and Adjacency Data. Data re-registered before October 29, 2013 will be maintained in both the WECC Registry and OATI webRegistry until that date. This is part of the OATI webRegistry (Electric Industry Registry [EIR] implementation) Phase 3 transition.

OATI webRegistry Phase 3 will impact entities in the Western Interconnection, as well as those entities conducting business with the Western Interconnection. Application Service Providers who currently utilize the WECC Registry will also be impacted.

OATI webRegistry Phase 3 also includes the retirement of the CSV and MDB publication file formats and transition to XML publication file format. This will impact all OATI webRegistry users currently relying on the CSV and MDB files. These activities will be rescheduled to take place at a later date that will be announced soon.

The NAESB owned EIR business process replaced the NERC TSIN registry business process in November 2012. The registry serves as the central repository for information within the electric industry. OATI webRegistry provides the functionality that implements the EIR business process. OATI is the NAESB chosen system administrator.
